Department of Driver Services now serving Greene & surrounding area!
SPLOST penny tax pays for building.
Located at 1180 C. Weldon Smith Drive, the Department of Driver Services (DDS) Customer Service Center is part of the Greene County Public Service Center, which also houses the Sheriff’s Administrative Division, Board of Elections, Enhanced 911 Center, and the Extension Office.
The new facility is a rare combination of the state and local government working as partners, with the county providing the building and the state paying for the equipment and staffing.
None of the funds to build the new facility came from local property tax dollars either. Greene County’s Board of Commissioners used the SPLOST penny tax to cover the building renovation costs.

Driver examiners will provide driver’s license testing, issuance and renewal, issuance of identification cards and driving history information.
