Director Sheridan is a Greene County resident and has been with the County as a part-time paramedic since 2018 while also working as a Base Clinical Lead/Flight Paramedic with AirEvac Lifeteam.
Sheridan brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. She graduated Emmanuel College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. In addition to being a State of Georgia post certified Paramedic, she is a Basic Life Support Instructor, certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support, Advanced Burn Life Support, and Pre-Hospital Neonatal Resuscitation. She holds a certificate from the International Board of Specialty Certification as a Board-Certified Flight Paramedic, and is currently finishing her Associates Degree in Nursing.
Sheridan said that she has a desire to serve the community and citizens that live within Greene County. She is invested in Greene County and her children will grow up here. Sheridan stated, “I am extremely thankful as well as humbled by the opportunity I have been entrusted with to serve the community. I look forward to working with the EMS team to provide access to quality prehospital care in service to the citizens and visitors of this great County.”
Sheridan has had no problem putting boots to the ground when she has seen a community or group in need. She has coordinated several in-state food drives, soup kitchens to feed the homeless, clothes drives for the underprivileged, coordinated a trip to Virginia Beach including fund-raising efforts to clean-up and construct a half-way house for men with addictions. Her selfless aide to people in need does not stop there. She has provided on-site disaster relief for victims of hurricanes in Louisiana, Florida and Alabama, as well as, assisted in efforts in Virginia and northwest Georgia. In 2009, she went on a medical mission to Mindanao, Philippines and assisted doctors in treating and diagnosing diseases illnesses and injuries otherwise untreated.
County Manager Byron Lombard stated, “Director Sheridan is a welcome addition to the public safety team and will no doubt have a positive influence on our collective efforts to provide quality public safety services to the community.”
Sheridan resides in the City of Woodville with her family, where she also serves as the Assistant Fire Chief of the Woodville Volunteer Fire Department.
