[ARCHIVED] Greene County Fire Rescue Welcomes Rodney Wiggins as New Fire Chief

Rodney Wiggins

Chief Rodney Wiggins is a 3rd generation firefighter with more than 28 years of experience.  His most recent role was Shift Commander for Meriwether County Fire Rescue. Before that he served as the Deputy Chief of Operations with Henry County Fire Department and as Assistant Chief in Training for Henry County Fire Department.  Chief Wiggins has proudly served six fire departments through his career and has held all ranks from firefighter to Deputy Chief.  He has been awarded numerous national and state certifications through the National Professional Qualification system such as Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor II, and Hazardous Materials Technician, and he is a credentialed Fire Chief through the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs. He is also a National and State certified Paramedic.  Chief Wiggins has been married to his wife Julie for over 21 years and has two children, Macie (19) and Colby (15).

We are excited to have Chief Wiggins join our department and look forward to his leadership and experience contributing to the continued growth and development of Greene County Fire Rescue.
