Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals
The Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals is responsible for hearing appeals from owners or their authorized agents on decisions rendered by the Building Official.
Meetings
- There is not a set schedule for meetings. The Chairman of the Construction Board will call a meeting within 30 calendar days of an appeal and notify the members of the date and time.
Appointment Term
The terms of office of the members shall be staggered so no more than one-third of the members are appointed or replaced in any 12-month period. The two alternates, if appointed, shall serve one-year terms.
How to be Considered for a Board Position
To be eligible to serve on a Board in Greene County you must reside in Greene County and maintain your residency during your term and you must not owe any delinquent taxes or fees to Greene County. Board members should have knowledge and experience in technical building codes such as design professionals, contractors or building industry representatives. Members of the Board shall hold no other county office or compensated position. In addition, a Board Member shall not act in a case in which he/she has a personal or financial interest. Applicants should be competent and of sound mind, be truly interested in the welfare of Greene County and its residents, sensitive to the long-term, as well as, immediate impact of their decisions, and be willing to devote the time and energy necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.
