Do You or Did You....

  • Buy a primary residence after April 1, 2023?
  • Forget to file for Homestead Exemption on a primary residence you purchased in 2022?
  • Want to have a large parcel of land considered for Conservation Use and Forest Land Protection?
  • As of January 1, own a business that has inventory?
  • As of January 1, own a boat that is located in Greene County more than 184 days a year?
  • As of January 1, own an aircraft that is principally hangered or tied down in Greene County?

What do I need to File?

What Happens if I File after April 1st?

Returns received after April 1 will be assessed a 10% penalty. For more information on personal property returns in Greene County, download the Personal Property Return document or contact the Tax Assessors office at 706-453-3355.

As mandated in O.C.G.A. 48-5-18, personal property returns must be received by the Assessor’s office no later than April 1 of each year. An official United States Postmark must accompany returns mailed on April 1. No metered mail will be accepted as timely unless it is physically received by the Assessor’s office on or before April 1.
